After suffering a chronic meltdown from posttraumatic stress disorder from exposure to trauma over many decades in New South Wales police and the horrific toll it had upon me, my family and my life, I want no one ever to be left alone like I was or feel so low that you think the world has abandoned you. No one really knew how bad I was and I was judged as “there’s nothing wrong with him” because on the outside I looked perfectly normal because I’m fit and healthy physically and try and stay as busy as possible to stem off the symptoms that bash me down.

The suicide rates in law enforcement in Australia are the highest per head of of any agencies yet it gets swept under the carpet and seen as a weakness. If you reach out for help you feel like you’ve failed and a reflection of this is that in the last two years, there has been more than 20 suicides in New South Wales police alone and that’s why I want to support mental health via M-Brace because if you can save one life, it goes a long way to saving another.
